Our products made of PLA
What is PLA
PLA stands for ‘Poly Lactic Acid’ and is a bioplastic made from Starch, Beets and Corn, among others. Lactic acid is extracted from these plants and then converted into a granulate from which you make this bioplastic. It is 100% industrially compostable and made from 100% plant-based raw materials. So there are no fossil fuels involved here.
You see the material a lot already in disposable packaging, but the packaging is also used for packaging cards, granola, sweets, biscuits and much more!
As the material is industrially compostable, it will not break down easily on its own, which is why packaging made of this material can offer your products the best protection.
The advantages of PLA
PLA is environmentally friendly but also a stronger material than paper, for example. PLA can therefore withstand slightly humid conditions, making this material extremely suitable for packaging food, cards and much more!
PLA looks like plastic but feels very different. Would you like to package your products in PLA bags instead of plastic for the first time? Then we advise you to request a sample first. This is because the material is very different from regular plastic.
Printing of PLA
We can also print and logo almost all our PLA products. The minimum quantities for these products depend on the type of packaging and the size, however, we can provide most products with a logo or text starting from around 10,000 pieces.
