If you buy side gussets made of bioplastic, you reduce your impact on the environment. Why that is, we are happy to explain. Ecolinq.com's side gussets are made of bioplastic, namely PLA. PLA stands for Polylactic Acid. This is a type of plastic made from 100% plant material, such as Maize and Sugar beet. Bioplastic is created by fermenting starch from these plants and is the ultimate replacement for normal plastic because normal plastic still requires fossil fuels to produce it.

Ecolinq.com's eco-friendly side folding bags are thus 100% plastic free and therefor eco-friendly and sustainable. However, that there is a side note. While the material is compostable, it is only industrially compostable. This means that a special machine is needed to convert the bags into plant material. These machines should normally be at the waste management facility.

What exactly are side-folding bags? Eco friendly side gusset bags basically have no block bottom, but they do have an extra side fold. And side fold across the entire bag, from top to bottom. This way, the bag has more content and is therefore ideal for, for example, chocolates, sweets, breakfast cereals or something else tasty.
